Our Beliefs
1 in 5 Stories believes that Americans with disabilities are prevented from doing what they want, not because of their disabilities, but rather, because their society hasn’t accepted them.
1 in 5 Stories believes that our nation was founded on the principals of liberty, and that this liberty is being denied to Americans with disabilities.
1 in 5 Stories believes that the fact that the only civil rights legislation in this land that has ever been challenged and brought before the Supreme Court is indicative of an underlying societal prejudice against Americans with disabilities.
1 in 5 Stories believes that the media is the most awesome and powerful institution in our free society, and that its power should be and can be tapped by any of us, especially with the barrier of entry lower than ever due to advances in technology. Conversely, its power can be abused.
1 in 5 Stories believes that all Americans, with or without disabilities, are free to make their own lifestyle, personal, and medical decisions; other people cannot possibly understand the unique experiences of others, and therefore should not impose their beliefs on others.
